stretch mark formation

Stretch marks are found on almost all women and even on men. These marks appear in the form of fine lines having red and purplish color. These depressed lines occur on various parts of the body due to pregnancy, puberty, weight gain and many other factor which results in prolonged overstretching of the skin. These marks appear on the middle layer of the skin called dermis.

The skin has its own elasticity and after a particular limit of stretching the elasticity breaks down and results in the formation of stretch marks. In such conditions inflammation of tissues occur along with the microscopic bleeding.

With the stretching of the dermis the outer layer of the skin called epidermis also gets stretched and become translucent so that you can easily view the formation of these purple and reddish marks. With the healing of these marks the formation of scars take place which results in stretch marks.

As time passes these marks also gets fade away and appear in form of whitish silver color. The tone of these marks also gets lighter due to the disruption in the collagen production which is caused by the excessive stretching of the dermis layer of the skin. There is also loss of the cells that produce pigments in such conditions.

Though there are few ways through which one can try to prevent these stretch marks but still if they occur then the best way to treat them is through application of an affective stretch marks cream. A good cream helps to improve the skin texture of the affected area and thus helps in removal of stretch marks.
